2011 Similkameen BBQ King Competition When: Saturday - July 16, 2011 Where: Keremeos Grist Mill & Gardens - 2691 Upper Bench Road Time: 5PM to 8PM Cost: $75 all inclusive For tickets, email info@SimilkameenWine.com or call 250.488.0878 It is our pleasure to invite you to our 2011 Similkameen BBQ King Competition. This unique event is a great way to celebrate the final day of the Summer Wine Festival. In this competition, eight or nine chefs will be vying for the title of the 2011 Similkameen BBQ King or Queen! Each chef will be given an identical basket of locally-sourced ingredients an allotted time to create their best culinary entry! Each chef will be paired with one of the wineries that make up the Similkameen Wineries Association. As a tribute to our organic roots in the Similkameen Valley, this will be a “Green” event. Everything must be compostable, recyclable or washable. As such, we will be providing birch serving plates, cloth napkins, metal cutlery and wine glasses for our guests. Event opens with a walk about to enjoy wines from each of the Similkameen Wineries Association wineries. From 6:00-7:45pm, guests will visit each chef’s station and enjoy each a mini-plate and paired wine. Cast a vote for who you think has earned the title of BBQ King or Queen. |

There will also be additional prizes such as best wine and food pairing and best presentation. The 2011 Similkameen BBQ King will be crowned along with the other award presentations for the last part of the evening. |
